Having made it out of Zoroark Mountain with the helpful guidance of Zoroark, Rhea had reached the luscious green Shaymin Garden. “Isn’t this place pretty?” Rhea said to Star, who was riding on her shoulder.
“Yeah! Look at all the pretty flowers!” Star replied
“This is the perfect place to find a grass Pokémon to add to our team” Rhea added “We should look round and see what there is” Just as she had finished talking there was rumbling spreading through the ground and a heard of Sawsbuck came running across the path. “Cool!” Rhea said and checked her Pokedex. It beeped:
“Sawsbuck, the season Pokémon. The evolved form of Deerling. The plants growing on its horns change according to the season. The leaders of the herd possess magnificent horns.”
The heard had slowed down and started to graze. Rhea looked and saw a magnificent Sawsbuck standing pride of place in the center. “Wow” she breathed. Star then nudged her.
“Hey, look at those little ones” Rhea had not noticed that the heard also had several smaller Pokémon with them. She checked her Pokedex again
“Deerling, the Season Pokémon. With the change of each season, Deerling's appearance changes as well.”
“They’re so cute” Rhea said. She stood and watched as one of the Deerling walked close to the leader who bent to nuzzle her. The Deerling then excitedly ran off into a patch of bushes.
“That’s your chance Rhea!” Star pointed. Rhea hesitated
“Don’t you think it’s mean to take her away from her heard?” Star tapped her on the head.
“In case you hadn’t noticed, she’s already run off from the heard” Rhea nodded I guess you’re right. She snuck round until she neared the bushes. Then Star whispered
“Wait. Think about who you’ll use” Rhea got out two balls
“Well using Flare or Aria would make sense”
“It would, but they don’t actually know any fire or flying moves yet” Rhea though then decided
“I’ll use Shadow, he has the most offensive moves. Thanks for the help Star, return” Star vanished into her ball and Rhea let out Shadow. “Are you ready? We’re going to try and catch a Deerling”
“Awesome!” Shadow replied “I’m ready” They went into the bushes. The Deerling was there and she looked up as they entered. She had a flower petal poking out of her mouth. “Are you ready to be captured!” Shadow shouted.
“Hey, I wouldn’t talk to me like that if I were you. My fathers the leader of the heard and he’d beat you up!” Rhea’s mind flashed back to the beautiful Sawsbuck she had seen. Rhea and Shadow braced themselves for the battle
“Go!” She ordered. Shadow leapt in with a scratch attack, but the Deerling nimbly dodged round and hit him back with a tackle. “Wow, she’s fast” Rhea said.
“You better believe it, I take after my dad, who’s the greatest ever” the Deerling had been distracted and Shadow managed to strike her with scratch. “That’s not fair, I wasn’t watching!”
“You clearly haven’t had any battle experience” Shadow snorted. The Deerling glared at him.
“I’ll show you!” and she tackled again. Shadow got up quickly this time.
“Use Pursuit!” Rhea shouted. Shadow ran at the Deerling which moved to dodge, but shadow seemed to fade away.
“Huh?” the Deerling faltered. Then Shadow bloomed out of the darkness behind her and struck a critical hit. The Deerling fell to the ground.
“Go Rhea!” Shadow shouted. Rhea threw the ball and hit the Deerling. She vanished into the ball. For a tence moment the ball shook, then the center flashed.
“We did it Shadow! We caught her!” Rhea yelled and the two ran round in happiness, but then Shadow stopped and sniffed.
“I think we might still have a problem” he said. Rhea frowned at him, but then there was a rustle and a large head poked through the leaves
“Is everything alright dear?” The Sawsbuck said, then paused as it saw the two.
“Ah” Rhea said slowly.
“Oh dear” Shadow muttered.
